All Physiofit staff are well qualified, experienced and have membership with their governing body (see below).

Physiotherapists - Members of the CSP. Registered with the HPC.

Pilates Instructor - Modern Pilates or APPI trained.

Physiofit has a programme of in-service training for staff, and practitioners continue their own professional development with post-graduate courses, regular peer review and reflective practice.

Jenny Heron

Jenny Heron
Jenny Heron is the Director of Physiofit Leeds which she founded in 2000. Initially based in Kirkstall, the practice moved to it's current location in 2004. Jenny has been qualified for 15 years as a physiotherapist working both in the NHS and in private practice. Jenny has wide experience in the treatment of sports injuries and has worked as head physiotherapist with several professional sports teams including Leeds Tykes and Leeds Rhinos Rugby Teams. She is a keen runner and mountain biker herself and understands the desire of the sportsman to get back to activity as soon as possible. Jenny trained as a Modern Pilates instructor in 2004, and now works with Modern Pilates as a tutor and course developer. Jenny specialises in the treatment of Women's Health issues including pelvic floor problems and pelvic/low back pain in ante and post natal women since training with the The Pelvic Partnership in 2005 and completing a post graduate certificate in Physiotherapy for Women's Health at Bradford University in 2011.

Becky Walker

Becky Walker
Becky qualified as a Sports Rehabilitator in 2003 and gained a Post Graduate Diploma in Physiotherapy in 2010. She has a wide experience of sports injuries through working 5 years full time with Rotherham Titans RUFC and her 2 years with Leeds United Ladies FC. Becky combined this work with clinics in private physiotherapy practice. She joined the team at Physiofit in 2006, and runs sports injury clinics including sports massage, along with general clinics and teaching Pilates. She specialises in the treatment and rehabilitation of knee and shoulder injuries. Becky qualified as a Modern Pilates Instructor in 2005 and has been teaching since, both classes and one to one. Becky has a particular interest in rehabilitation Pilates for those with long term conditions including chronic back pain and neurological conditions such as stroke, MS or Parkinsons.

Stacey Lalande

Stacey Lalande
Stacey graduated as a physiotherapist from Leeds Metropolitan University in 2005. She currently works as a senior physiotherapist at Airedale General Hospital. She has wide experience of sports injuries through her 4 years working as Academy Physiotherapist for Leeds United Football Club.

Stacey trained as a pilates instructor with the APPI in January 2009 and joined the team at Physiofit in 2009. She combines her work with physiotherapy clinics and teaching group and one-to-one classes with a focus on rehabilitation.

Kristy Blackburn

Kristy Blackburn
Kristy qualified with a first class honours degree from the University of Bradford in 2009 and has since worked full time at Bradford Teaching Hospitals. Kristy has continued her professional qualifications by training as a pilates instructor with the APPI in 2010, attending a variety of manual therapy courses and is qualified in acupuncture.

She has experience of many sporting injuries whilst working within professional and amateur sport, including the Sheffield Sharks Professional Basketball and various Yorkshire based rugby union teams. Kristy joined the team in late 2011 and currently offers Saturdays appointments.

Helen Smith

Helen Smith qualified with a first class honours degree from Leeds Metropolitan University in 2008. She currently works as a senior physiotherapist for East Riding of Yorkshire PCT. She has experience of treating sports injuries whilst working for Leeds United Academy and West Riding Girls Football Club.

Helen joined the Physiofit Team in 2010 and offers evening appointments.

Sandra Bell

Sandra Bell
Sandra is an experienced exercise teacher with over 20 years experience of running classes of many disciplines and working as a personal trainer. She has been a Modern Pilates instructor since 2003. She also works for Modern Pilates as an assessor on their training courses.

She joined the team at Physiofit in 2009 and specialises in teaching the smaller group classes. Sandra works alongside our physiotherapists to offer rehabilitation as part of these classes.

Julie Murgatroyd

Julie has been teaching exercise for over 25 years. After a break whilst her children were young she qualified as a Modern Pilates Instructor in 2006.

She has been a member of the team at Physiofit for 3 years, and works closely with our physiotherapists, teaching rehabilitation classes as well as general pilates. She also specialises in pre and post natal classes.

Anna Green

Anna Green
Anna graduated as a physiotherapist from Leeds Metropolitan University in 2005. She works as a senior physiotherapist for Mid Yorkshire NHS Hospitals. She qualified as a pilates instructor with APPI (Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute) in 2008.

Anna joined the Physiofit team in 2009 and teaches the larger group classes with a focus on rehabilitation.

Emma Smithson

Emma Smithson
Emma has been working as a personal trainer since qualifying in 1998. She has a foundation science degree in Health Related Exercise and Fitness. She works in the community in North Leeds teaching exercise classes, falls prevention classes and personal training. She trained with Modern Pilates in 2003 and has completed courses up to advanced personal trainer level.

Emma joined the Physiofit team in 2009 and works with our physiotherapists teaching general pilates classes and offering personal training including work on a pilates reformer.

Kirsten Lamb

Kirsten Lamb
Kirsten graduated as a physiotherapist from York St John College of the University of Leeds in 2005. She currently works as a senior physiotherapist for Leeds PCT Musculoskeletal Services, and is completing an MSc in Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation part time.She has many years of experience of teaching a variety of fitness classes and trained as a pilates instructor with the APPI (Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute) in 2006.

She joined the team at Physiofit in 2010 and teaches larger group classes with a focus on rehabilitation.

Jo Blenkinsopp

Jo Blenkinsopp
Jo has been teaching a variety of fitness classes within the industry for ten years in many local fitness clubs. She originally qualified with Modern Pilates in 2003 and has been teaching pilates in larger and smaller groups ever since.

She has worked with rehabilitation patients and closely with the physiotherapists and held the role of Group Exercise Coordinator for two years. Jo is currently studying for a degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine.

Susie Price

Susie is our practice manager. She works on reception and helps Jenny with the running of the business. She is currently training to become a Modern Pilates Instructor.
