Physiotherapy Physiofit Chartered Physiotherapists offer professional assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of a range of injuries and conditions. We have links with local GP surgeries and liase with other consultants and specialists to provide the best pathway of care for each individual.

Treatment is provided at Walnut Tree Physiotherapy Centre which has two physiotherapy treatment rooms as well as the well equipped rehabilitation gym. To find out about each physiotherapist please look them up on the About us page.

What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is the practice of treating injury and disease by correcting and stimulating the body's own natural healing mechanisms without the use of drugs or medication. Physiotherapy can play a vital part in providing pain relief, promoting healing and providing a rehabilitation programme in many medical conditions.

What does physiotherapy involve?

The first appointment lasts 45 minutes and consists of a discussion of the problem followed by an assessment and initial treatment. Subsequent treatment sessions last 30 minutes and aim to treat the problem and provide a rehabilitation programme and advice on the prevention to avoid recurrence.

Payment

The majority of our clients pay directly for their treatment. We accept cash, cheques and debit card payment.

Most private health insurance schemes provide cover for physiotherapy treatment. Physiofit is registered as a provider for BUPA, WPA and other health insurance companies. You need to contact your health insurer direct before your first appointment to make a claim for treatment on your policy.

Simply Health, Westfield Health and similar schemes will reimburse some of the cost of physiotherapy treatment. You will be asked to pay at each treatment and provided with a receipt which can be forwarded to your health insurance provider.
